Get the Look: Maisie Williams’ 2015 Emmy Awards

Maisie Williams walked the 2015 Emmy’s Awards Red Carpet with a stunning  beauty look.  Thanks to Kiehl’s Since 1851 and makeup artist Kindra Mann, you can create the stunning skin and makeup look at home.

“I was totally inspired tonight by Maisie’s retro feeling pink dress. I loved that the color and texture gave it a vintage feel.  We wanted the makeup to feel that same way, but with a more modern twist.”

“To keep Maisie’s skin looking fresh all night I started off by pressing a few drops of Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate onto her skin before applying a little of Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream for added moisture. I prepped the under eye area with a little of Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado.

“For the makeup, I first applied a thin layer of Kiehl’s Skin Tone Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream in Light all over, and then went in where I wanted a little more coverage with Kevyn Aucoin Skin Enhancer in #5. I set the foundation using Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder in #1.”

“For the cheeks I wanted to give Maisie a nice sun-kissed glow, so I warmed up her skin using Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow.  I used the darker shade to contour and warm the skin, and just applied the shimmer to the cheek bones for added glow. And, using a stipple brush, I applied La Prairie Cellular Radiance Cream Blush in Rose Glow to the apples of the cheeks.”

“Maisie has incredible eyes, and I really wanted to play them up. We decided to take a traditional cat eye and give it a modern twist by using plummy purple shadows. Using the Dior 5 Couleurs Palette in Victoire,  I blended the purples together focusing the lighter shade on the brow bone and inner eye.  Next I appliedPur Minerals Eye Polish in Velvet to the outer corners, creating a cat eye effect.  I then finished the eye by curling the lashes and applying a few coats of Pur Minerals Big Look Mascara before adding a few Ardell individual lashes.

“For the lips we wanted a nice nude color that was a little softer than the pink in the dress.  I started off by applying Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 to hydrate the lips. I then added Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in #1 Pale Pink Nude to give it that perfect nude color.”

I first learned of Breakups to Makeup at The Makeup Show Orlando in November.  The company is known for its unique quirky cosmetic-related slogans and caught my eye at the beauty pro trade show.

The fun company has partnered with Sephora to bring a new accessory assortment to everyone.  The three cosmetic bag or clutches feature two of Breakups to Makeup signature quotes “LOSING YOU HURT BUT LOSING MY MAKEUP WOULD BE A TRAGEDY and “I WOULD CRY BY MY MASCARA IS DESIGNER” the third is a Sephora exclusive, “LIFE IS SHORT, WEAR MORE MAKEUP’.

The clutches retail for $24 and a made of a durable canvas material, they are large enough to fit a phone and take out or to house all of your cosmetics.

Founder Angelique Velez began the company in June 2013, with a series of catchy phrases on a variety of products that celebrate the art.  “The goal of Breakups to Makeup has always been to encourage the artistic expression and empowerment that many makeup enthusiasts feel makeup has brought into their lives.  We are beyond thrilled to become a part of the beauty wonderland that they have created.”

OCC Fragmented Alice Lip Tar

ImageObsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is a brand that I found several years ago and since then they have blown up and create some amazing products and shades.  The cruelty-free vegan line has rich pigments, incredible staying power and can create both beauty and editorial looks.

There award winning lip tar has become a huge hit, Lip Tar is a hybrid of a lipstick and a lip gloss, the pigment is so saturated that a little goes a long way.  I promise this is one where you really want to apply with a light hand.

To my surprise I was very interested when I learned that OCC was releasing a new color Lip Tar and it would make its debut at San Diego Comic Con.  Luckily San Diego is my home town so I sent my brother on the mission to acquire the Tar before it hit the shelves.  Why did I go nuts for this??

“Fragmented Alice” Lip Tar is a take On Alice in Wonderland.  Symbolist painter Gail Potocki, helped create the color, Inspired by Potocki’s uniquely macabre take on the Alice in Wonderland mythology.  The color is a metallic green, hints of gold and something that is fresh and new.  OCC describes the color as “acid-green, gold laced metallic”.  Packaged with an applicator for $14 USD.

Keeping true with the formula of Lip Tar it is glossy and has a shimmery effect.  Yes the color is definitely green and does have a gold sheen in it.  If you are not sure that you are ready to rock such a strong color, it looks very cool on top of a neutral pink shade and gives your lips a reason for a second glance.  However, if you are not inspired by the color then look into all of the Lip Tar shades and pick a fun one that you would love.

OCC will be conjuring up a limited edition collection full of curious colors inspired by the world of ‘Fragmented Alice’.
