A little Pixie Dust was sent my way in an email from Disney Parks today stating that I had been chosen to host a #DisneySide  @Home Celebration in the next few months.  I am so elated to be chosen again to host as I was lucky last year to have a fabulous box full of party goodies sent to me in an American Tourister suitcase.

The surprise box will be coming soon, the only thing I do know is that our party is geared toward preschoolers and the Theme is CARS!  Which of course is perfect as my 4 year old is all about Disney and cars.  Let the coordinating begin!

Just in case you are wondering.  A party that is for my little one and friends but not his birthday?  Do I have that much free time?  Why did Disney send me a huge box of goodies?  What is #DisneySide?

Every year Disney Parks launch a marketing campaign that is seen on social media, in the parks and national advertising.  Many may remember the”Year of a Million Dreams”, as it was a very popular and memorable campaign.  The year of 2015 is “Show Your Disney Side”, it’s the side that makes adults and children embrace their fun and giddy side.  On social media everyone is encouraged to share their love of Disney and use #DisneySide (hashtag).  Whether you are at a park, at the movies, at home  enjoying Disney.

To take the excitement even further Disney invited selected families to be hosts of a Disney Side Home Celebration, a party held end of January to the end of February.  By agreeing to be a part of the #DisneySide @Home Celebration the hosts will receive a box full of goodies to host their party.

Whether you were lucky to be chosen Disney wants everyone to show their #DisneySide, host a party or share a photo of themselves or family and friends getting into the spirit.  Disney has a website created to help with ideas and for you to showcase your spirit!unnamed

After Our #Disneyside Party took the Fun to Disney World

We had so much fun showing our #Disneyside with the @Home Celebration that a few weeks after the party we went to Disney World.  We had many fun things planned at Disney World including a Disney Junior Character lunch at Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park.  Instead of getting an autograph book, I decided to use the Mickey & Minnie poster that came in our @Home Celebration kit.  This way I could frame it and keep it as a keepsake of our #Disneyside Party and our trip.

The Final Signed Poster: Mickey Mouse, Jake, Doc McStuffins, Mr. Incredible & Frozone.

In a magical Disney Fashion we also were able to see Fantasmic Mickey and get him to sign the poster along with Daddy’s favorite’s Mr. Incredible and Frozone.

Very Excited to see our pal Mickey!

I will say that our poster made a splash and was asked about during our trip from others.  The poster was an amazing party favor all alone, however, I must say that it is even better now!  Thanks Disney!!!  The magic never stops!

#DisneySide Party: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Carnival is Here!

After weeks of planning for our #DisneySide @Home Celebration, the big day finally arrived.  From the time that I was chosen, the box arrived it has been a buzz at our house.  After we got the Mickey Mouse

themed party supplies it was an easy decision to go with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme and the Carnival part seemed perfect given that our party was for 3 year old’s.  Given that there were going to be many 3 year olds with tons of energy, my husband and I made the decision to hold the party at a beautiful park in South Florida.  The kids can be loud, run around, enjoy the carnival activities and make a mess without any problems.

My invitations were courtesy of HP.  HP sent me several boxes of printable photo paper and with the HP Photo Creations program, it was so easy to design them, print them and mail them out.  HP was so generous that I have left over photo paper and decided that as a little extra goodie, to print pictures from the party and give them to the families, so that they have pictures of their children having a blast!

So let’s start with the food!  Half of the fun of any carnival is that the snacks are fun, can easily be matched up to some of the fun food you eat at Disney Parks and kids love it all!  I choose to go with Corn Dogs, Popcorn from our vintage machine packaged in little fun bags, pretzels, grapes and Mickey Mouse shaped rice krispy treats (thanks to Disney for sending me the Mickey mouse cookie cutter).  The main dessert was actually part of an activity station, cupcake decorating.  With the help of Homekeeters, a craft website and shop, I was able to get Mickey printables and do adorable matching placecards with descriptions of the food as well as wrap all of the water bottles with Mickey Mouse labels.  Presentation always takes a party set-up from good to great!

Eight 3 year old’s including the mini-host, are going to need activity stations to keep them happy and entertained.  We of course had our favorite Disney tunes playing at the party the entire time.  I had four activity stations set up so that the kids could pick and choose what they would like to do.  Station 1:  Art : Using the Cheer Boards that Disney sent us along with downloadable coloring sheets from the DisneySide Celebrations website, I had an art station with crayons and tons of Mickey stickers.  Station 2: The Cupcake Decorating Station: My son and his friends love cooking and treats so it seemed like a fun idea to bake the cupcakes before the party and then they could use the icing, sprinkles and Mickey & Minnie candies to decorate their own desserts.  I will say this was probably the most loved station of them all.  Station 3: Bubbles and Beach Balls:  What kid does not like bubbles?  We set up our Bubble Machine (buy tons of big bottles) and kept it running the entire 3 hours.  Beach balls just seemed like a good match to play with amongst all of the bubbles. Station 4: Playground:  The bonus of having it at a park a huge slide and playground.

The kids had a great time and so did the parents.  Everyone told me to tell the #DisneySide team thank you for the great goodies.  You can always gauge a successful party by the length that everyone stays and the tears when it really is time to go (late).  However, I find that by giving goodie bags and prizes at the very end makes leaving not so bad.  The goodie bags had the Pluto temporary tattoos, the ESPN bracelets, Ocean Spray Craisins, lollipops, the Muppets Calendars and my personal favorite the Mickey & Minnie Posters.  Some great Swag on the way out!

In the end everyone, had a great time and all of the kids were worn out, which as a parent is always a bonus!  A little quiet time after, to which I did get this week a few thank you’s for that too!

The sad part about this post is that our #DisneySide party is over!  It was such an honor to be chosen and be a part of the group of hostesses.  However, our #DisneySide will be going on all year, with a trip to Walt Disney World in 4 more days and then this Summer a Disney Planes Birthday Party for our Son!  And I have been challenged to go as fancy and even bigger with that party.  So we shall see what that will entail.

What is Show Your #DisneySide and @Home Celebration

I realized that after posting about #DisneySide and the @Home Celebration that it was unclear especially when I sent out my invites, that it was unclear.  A party that is for my little one and friends but not his birthday?  Do I have that much free time?  Why did Disney send me a huge box of goodies?

A little late, but here is the story and how everyone can show their #DisneySide.

Every year Disney Parks launch a marketing campaign that is seen on social media, in the parks and national advertising.  Many may remember the”Year of a Million Dreams”, as it was a very popular and memorable campaign.  The year of 2014 is “Show Your Disney Side”, it’s the side that makes adults and children embrace their fun and giddy side.  On social media everyone is encouraged to share their love of Disney and use #DisneySide (hashtag).  Whether you are at a park, at the movies, at home  enjoying Disney.

To take the excitement even further Disney invited selected families to be hosts of a Disney Side Home Celebration, a party held end of February to beginning of March.  By agreeing to be a part of the #DisneySide @Home Celebration the hosts received a box chock full of goodies, from paper goods, to decor, activities, games, HP photo cards, American Tourister luggage and more.

My family was chosen and we are hosting a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Carnival Themed Party for a group of toddlers and their families.

Whether you were lucky to be chosen Disney wants everyone to show their #DisneySide, host a party or share a photo of themselves or family and friends getting into the spirit.

Show Your #DisneySide @Home Celebration Kit

Shortly after recieving the news that I was selected to be a hostess for a #DisneySide @Home Celebration, a very large box was delivered on my doorstep.  The box alone created a buzz in my house as the mom of a 3 year old toddler and my husband were very curious to see what was in store for us!

HP included several Photo Card Packs to use as invitations and print pictures to commemorate the day, a Mickey Mouse luggage tag and an Iphone 5 case from Disney Story app.  The app lets you tell a story thru your pictures and music.

A huge thank you to Disney, American Tourister, HP and Oceanspray.  The Hostess gift was amazing and when #Disney Celebrations said that it would give you everything needed to host a pary, they were not joking.  We are very excited to get to party planning our Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Party.  Stay Tuned to see our party theme.

Show Your #DisneySide and Be a Hostess of @Home Celebration

Disney has begun 2014 asking people to show their #DisneySide.  It has been fun to see young and old showcasing their love of Disney.  In addition Disney asked for fans to submit an application to be a Disney Host for a #DisneySide @Home Celebration.  Of course being a Disney Fan and a Toddler Mom, it was a no brainer.  The fantastic part was the email stating that I had been chosen and that a hostess box full of Disney Magic and Fairy Dust would be sent our way.  While the details of the box are a secret until arrival, it is rumored to be amazing!
